Location Strategy: Strategic Co-Location
The optimal location strategy balances brand control, patient access, and cost-efficiency. The first clinic will be established in a leased space within a professional medical building or a high-end commercial plaza that is geographically adjacent to a large, high-volume PCN in a T2D hotspot like the Edmonton-Rutherford area.
This strategic co-location approach captures the benefits of proximity, easy referrals, and collaboration with family physicians, while maintaining full brand independence, operational control, and a distinct, premium identity.
While subleasing space directly within a PCN offers low startup costs and a built-in referral stream, it carries the significant risks of brand dilution, operational dependency, and potential future competition from the landlord. A fully standalone "strip mall" location offers brand control but sacrifices the symbiotic relationship with primary care.
Space Layout
The physical clinic is the tangible embodiment of the ThriveAB brand. It must be a welcoming, modern, and professional environment that inspires confidence and fosters community.
Reception & Waiting Area
Wellness Lounge
A bright, modern space that feels more like a wellness lounge than a clinic waiting room. Will feature a small, curated retail section with approved supplements, cookbooks, and wellness products, creating a minor ancillary revenue stream.
Consultation Rooms
2 Private Rooms
Private rooms for the initial physician assessments and one-on-one follow-ups. Designed for comfort and confidentiality, equipped for seamless telehealth consultations.
Group Session Room
1 Large Room — 10-15 Capacity
A larger, flexible space that can comfortably accommodate 10-15 participants. Equipped with high-quality audio-visual technology for presentations and a demonstration kitchen area for the nutrition workshops.
Staff Offices & Breakroom
Private Area
Private space for the clinical team to collaborate and manage administrative tasks. Essential for team coordination and maintaining work-life balance.
Technology Infrastructure
The clinic will be paperless, running on a modern Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. All rooms will be equipped for seamless telehealth consultations.
Paperless clinical workflow, integrated referral management, outcome tracking
All consultation rooms support seamless virtual appointments for hybrid care delivery
Proprietary behavioral economics platform, ThrivePod integration, CGM connectivity
Presentation display, video conferencing, demonstration kitchen technology
Every element of the clinic design serves the patient journey. The welcoming reception area reduces anxiety. The private consultation rooms ensure trust. The group session room with its kitchen area enables the practical, hands-on learning that drives long-term behavior change. The technology infrastructure ensures seamless data flow from the clinic to the app to the physician. The space is not just where care happens — it is an integral part of the care itself.
